Modest to the core, Kuching darling Sereni Linggi is grace personified. Hands down for one of the most pleasant women we know, with her sunny outlook on life, it’s tough not to be swept away by this society beauty. “It’s important to be able to laugh at yourself and accept your imperfections,” she declares, eloquently summing up, “perfection is passé.” That lighthearted quality combined with bravado is exactly what gives her the chutzpah to don some of the most daring of fashion. “I can be quite adventurous and will try unusual combinations,” she states, interjecting in midst of laughter, “as long as it doesn’t blind anyone or cause any accidents.” Proving true to her claims, she embodies our modern take of a tribal ethnic, literally head-on, enduring a far from comfortable headpiece with effortless class. Describing her style as vintage with a twist, Sereni swears by her mood to inspire her fashion. “Sometimes I’m all about colour and sometimes I’m Little Miss Minimal,” she says. An enthusiast of Valentino, Kate Spade, Chanel and Luella Bartley, Sereni also credits bosom buddy Shen-Tel Lee and her brother Baring, whom she affectionately calls a fashion guru, for her savoir-faire.
